Mining Service Headgear

Hi folks,

i recently started expanding my M69 cap collection into the civil caps.
doing so i have acquired this cap, it was sold to me as mining rescue officer.
it came with sleeve patches, for indeed mining rescue unit.

what can you tell me about this cap.
for one what makes it different from a normal mining cap.

thanks

Ser-g,

You post the most unusual caps! Can't help much on this, postwar unusual branch stuff like this is in the arena of guys like Tretov, but its a great looking cap. Has a similar look to the DDR Miners cap.

Thanks for posting your caps here!

re: Mining Service Headgear

I wish I could jump in with a bright answer, but the only thing I have related to mine-rescue is a patch that is somewhat roughly attached to a MVD service uniform.

Having looked at undertheredstar.com , one of the differences seem to be the badge itself where miners had only the crossed tools and militarized rescue units has a wreath around.

My personal opinion would be that the cap is for a "ordinary" miner - unless the upper star distinguish it in any way.

Great collection btw! :thumbsup:thumbsup

re: Mining Service Headgear

thanks tretov ,,

for what i know the upper round badge it totally unknown to me, but the crosses hammers is a badge worn by mining junior workers till 1976.

but the cap is from 1983, so

1 i like to know the significance of the rounded badge
2 i like to know if the 1976 model badge i right to it

what do you mean by fine cap ?

-------------

i have found some thing revering to the round badge (Rosette) it was reportedly used in the 40's and 50's on higher (highest) official of different civil ministries.

i can still find nothing about the use of that Rosette in the time frame of this cap (1970-1991).

maybe anyone ?
