I think they go on the chest opposite of where the classification badges go. One of the pics of the em guys in the red regs book (I think) shows the pin in wear.

Correct, except that the civilian badge had tons of variation, this one didn't (as far as I know that is).

I got this one a couple days ago, scanned it, and then forgot to post it.
I like this as it's dated 1951 and has a nice picture of our boy in uniform.

Yeah, it is kinda nice. I'm trying to focus on earlier paper items- 40s and 50s.
Thankfully there still seems to be little interest in collecting Soviet paper goods. Although a GPW-era soldier's ID in poor shape sold for $26.50 on eBay the other day.

i received a new badge , civil type , allu made , very small size , two different maker mark!

i have only 100:(

And here's a Komsomol (I think?) badge. Nicely marked MMA screwplate and marked on the reverse of the badge as well. A nice example I think.
I believe that these are the military versions.
