Actually, in Russian, as in all Slavic languages, the spelling depends on the gramatical case being used.
Esteban's is (almost) the genetive case form, but depending on the way it is used it will change as other gramatical cases - nominative, dative, instrumental, etc. - may be proper. Also, the Russian word for Soviet or 'union' is COBET- which is transliterated as "sovet-". There is no 'a' in it. So you get sovetskiy, soveskogo, etc. Shawn |

Oh, I forgot to say that I wrote it as the pronunciation was.
As I know, the O is pronounced as A, or if the syllable in which is it is accented, it is pronounced as O. ¿Is that right? ¡Thanks for telling me the mistake! Esteban
