I think we have reached the point where commentors will differ. The auction piece looks good to me, but I will not bid because I have several. (I have one with the number and Roman number reversed but have to go back to the bank and the auction will end before I can get them all.) You will not likely bid for reasons as stated. But that leaves the other 9 - 14 bidders from those recent auctions to duke it out as to whether its real or not. Multiple bidders, then somebody besides me thinks it looks good, real or not and we can still have a beer/pivo.

Just remember two plants neither of which is likely to agree to follow the lead of the other. SO we see Metallmark,vs Juv and we see thin slit vs wide slot for flag and staff. and Right number vs left number.

Min bid is 3 - 5 times the old $300 - $500 of yester-year. So, I am waiting to see if they all make me a millionaire :yahoo

I did some extra research and found that Metallmärk became Juveelitehas in 1951, they are the same factory. This election was in 1951, and I am not sure if the original badges were under the old name or the new name. It is also possible that the Metallmärk name made the original badges, and Juveelitehas made the badges for replacement delegates to replace people that had died or been removed. In any event, this was the old Roman Tavast badge factory in Estonia that had extremely high quality standards. Because of these high standards, Estonia was allowed to make more of their badges locally than most other republics. Almost every Estonian badge comes from this factory.
And I definitely agree that midnight Saturday on Memorial Day weekend is a bad time for the seller to end an auction for a high end item like this.

Here is another one being offered to me, this one comes with lots of documents I know are original, but I know that sometimes they switch out the real badges and put a fake with the real documents to make it look better.

Does anyone have an opinion about this one?

Here is another one, this one sold for $900 in Russia, the prices on these high end items are definitely coming down fast in Russia.....at least from what I can see online.

Does anyone have any opinions on these two, either #56 or #81? #56 is the one I have my eyes on......

Hello,

I have a nice lot with badge and documents for the 8th Eesti NSV Ülemnõukogu (1971).

Document is in Estonian and Russian and includes small "Tunnistus", which in Estonian means ID. That small doc with the same number as the actual council book and badge is in Estonian and grants the holder free travel in public transportation.

Badge is in its original small case, which has #8 on top (8th meeting). Badge is numbered, silver hallmarked and again marked with #VIII.
