Gentlemen,

Not sure where to post this as I have no idea if it's a modern Russia or an Russian Imperial item.

Any idea what this is?

It is definitely modern, not imperial. It could be a cossack organization or some other religious/cultural society.

The seller describes it as a Russian Army Honor Cross, whatever that means.

Although I have an interest in modern Russian awards, I'm not entirely up to speed on them. If it is an official award, which I doubt, it must have been instituted within the last year. If it is an armed forces award, it could be a unit insignia or a new award instituted for service in a particular geographic area as is done for Georgia, Tadzhikistan, etc.

I've seen several similar badges for sale.I believe it is modern Russian Federation and they usually sell for about £5 - £7.

They are sold in Russia for 120 roubles. It's $4-5.
