I have received today such a badge. It is made of brass and red enamel. The mint mark isn't the typical circle but is located just to the right and below the first C in CCCP. Not sure about this one, as it looks similar to the one posted by Soviet. In any event it weighs in at 19.5 with the nut and 15.9 without. Opinions? Thanks

I see that. Can you see the mm in my photo? It has the 3 letter MMD in Russian. Still, the amount of money I paid compared with how much it's worth has got me skeptical.

Danny,

I have one of these, it weights 21Gr with the nut and and 17,65Gr without the nut.
Mine looks almost brand new so I don't know if they are from different periods!

You mention 3 letters on the Mint Mark. I can only see two (MM) inside that round mark on mine... But that mark is so small that even with a magnifier I'm perhaps missing something!

Best,

Dolf

Sorry to hear that. I'm starting to think that mine might be OK. It looks new as they were issued in the 80's.
