Was purple the official, or unofficial, color of airship units? Any other notable facts about the color (or anything else)?

To be honest, I think this is cooler than a NKVD flag. :thumbsup

My camera makes it look more purple than it is; its more of a blood red. Many flags of this era were more of this red than a bright red.dd
