Partisan document?
I never really thought about or had a need to figure out the authenticity of a Partisan medal document, so any thoughts on the this one? I would expect it to be much more expensive than the seller is asking, which makes me naturally suspicious. I also have no idea what the prices for these are normally so I might just be paranoid for no good reason.
Thoughts? Phillip And I fixed the photo a bit...

Re: Partisan document?
Hi Phillip,
I checked this against another Belarussian doc that was listed on the site recently and it actually looks pretty good to me: http://soviet-awards.com/forum/sovie...tml#post134720 I like that the stamp has the same distric name as the one written in. :thumbsup My only criticism would be on the penmanship, it is very proper and at times unsteady. It's almost as if someone gave the doc to their kid and asked them to fill it out. :) I think it's good though, and the matching medal doc is a nice touch. Let me know if you'd like it translated, should be easy given the other translation. George |

Re: Partisan document?
Thanks George. If the medal were being sold with it and that was being used as reason for a higher price, I might be more suspicious. I'll have to think a bit more about it than I originally planned, but so be it.:)

Re: Partisan document?
Hi Phillip,
These documents just state that the individual was involved in the partisan movement and have nothing directly to do the Partisan medals. It is analogous to the other documents that state that an individual served in the armed forces during the GPW. This one looks fine to me - I have several similar ones. Recent prices I have seen range from US$10-55. Simon |
