Tal,
This is the standard late-Soviet era Communist Party membership booklet. When someone is a "card carrying communist" this is the card ;) Shawn |

Tal,
It was the next model after that one. What I am not sure of is whether existing members were re-issued with the later type or if it was just given to new members who joined after it was introduced. Some of them have nice info in them. One I used to have in my collection had service details about the guy - a radio technician who had served in the Central Group of Forces (Hungary) in a signals unit. Shawn |

I have a KPCC ID issued on 1973, that was used untill 1990, so I geuss that the party member didn't got a ne type of doc.
For how long one was candidate for a member in the party?

Tal, Shawn,
I believe that the card is not the actual membership booklet, but the so called "Registration Card" - the one that they would keep in a local party "Raykom" (Local Party Committee) to record all the information about the member and his activitiers in the Party. Alexei |

The interesting issue is this: the member of the KPCC has his own membership document, while the party had the other document. So, how come so much SETS exist? I have several pairs of documents. If - after brakeup of CCCP - some documents came out of the party offices, that's ok. But then we should almost never see a pair of them together.

Tal,
When the Party was disbanded many of those registration cards were given to members. Alexei |

What you have is a KPSS (Communist Party of Soviet Union) membership book issued to Anatoliy Apolinarovich Promagskiy. He was born Urainian in 1927.
Rusty.
