Short, concrete description of the personal combat feat or merits:

On January 12, 1945, while breaking through the heavily fortified enemy defenses on the Sandomierz bridgehead and during the subsequent offensive combat pursuing and destroying the enemy, he skilfully led his platoon and displayed personal courage and bravery. During the fighting for the liberation of the villages of Sobovitsy, Rugaluv and Gelenush, his platoon killed up to 50 enemy soldiers and officers. Leading on his men, he was the first to storm into the village of Sobovitsy, where he was wounded, but he didn’t leave the battlefield until the success was assured.

For displayed courage and bravery during the fighting with the German-fasist invaders, I recommend Ivan Petrovich Ivanov be awarded the Order of the Red Star.
