Which branch of service are they? Cavalery, Air Force, NKVD ?

Hello Andreas,
I must admit I don't know much about uniforms and boards, but your boards look very similar to a set I acquired from Doug back in 2005. It seems though the blue is a bit lighter (or just cleaner/newer?) than mine and the reverse straps are not exactly of the same shape. But we know that there were lot of variance for small details like this based on the specific factory who manufactured clothing items.

Six-sided boards with straight top which indicates either shirt or tunic boards by opposition to open coat boards which were four-sided with a diagonal top. With Air Forces blue piping. Top of boards and stars are made of golden color metallic thread. Dimensions 64 x 157 mm
