Ehrentitel Verdienter Werktätiger des Post- und Fernmeldwesens der DDR (Meritorious Worker of the Mail and Communications Services) (1975)
The title was instituted on January 30th, 1975.
Awarded for outstanding performance in the solution of tasks of the postal and telecommunications branch, for meritorious initiatives in competition, as well as excellent services in scientific and technical field. Also for services in rationalization and intensification and ultimately longstanding exemplary commitment in this area. From 1975 the number of awards was limited to only 10 honourary degrees per year, since 1986, the number of the honourary title was increased to 20.
