Badge "70 Years Of Border Guards Of The KGB".

Hi all, i have a 70 year ann, badge, i think it is original, but the silver colored center peice looks like it has been replaced. There are two holes drilled in the main bagde plate. I have seen some pictures, and what is differant is that the enamel on the two dates (1918 and 1988) is red, where in the pictures i have seen it is green, maybe it was a earlier issue. If any one has any ideas, i would love to hear them. Thanks, Ian

The third, and final of the official Border Guard anniversary/award badges produced by the Soviet Union, was the 70th shown below. This example was produced by the Moscow Mint Yard; I have seen a Pobeda version of this badge as well.

In my opinion, the 70th is the best-looking "anniversary" badge (not counting the 50th). It was very finely crafted and coated with a gloss of some sort. It was also one of the first items I bought while in Moscow.
