This is a great area of collecting that may warrant its own forum section eventually. Recently there's also an excellent book that came out that may activate more interest in the subject matter; it's pretty tough to get in the US though (I had mine shipped from Russia).

I like this one, really great design and quality with the red, pink, and green hot enamel. There are some characteristic enamel discoloration near the attached "heads." I believe this a memento that one would buy while attending a 1957 Festival sporting event in the Lenin stadium; C4 (uncommon) according to the Valeev catalog. Reminds me of ancient coins with the Coliseum on them. :chuckle

There is always the option for new forum sections. All folks have to do is post and the new subsections magically appear. I think there have been 50 or 60 new sections this year alone (Armenian Award Groups is the latest). There are a few more planned so keep your eyes peeled!

There are also a good number of non-Soviet Badges for these Youth Festivals in the correct areas if anyone is interested.
