Order "Red Banner".

Please can anyone identify the badge from illustration. Screw back fixing with no apparent markings. 4.5cms deep by 3.75cms wide. Difficult to identify metal - seems to have a lead content from the colour and does not ring?

Grateful for any suggestions including date-line.

Looks like the Order of the Red Banner of the Armenian SSR, instituted in 1921.

Most likely cast fake. The original is made with multiple pieces. I sure hope that you did not pay much for it

Most, if not all republican orders are faked, some of them being of very high quality and quite convincing.

It's always good to show both sides of such an item. The reverse clearly doesn't look 80 years old! I hope you didn't pay too much for it.

I think that we can fairly say, concerning these republican orders, that if you paid less than 2000 USD, you most likely have a fake in your hands.
Unless you bought it straight from a family member of the recipient.

Moreover, 2000 USD would be a bargain

Seriously, I think that under $5000 to $7000, it is totally unrealistic (exception being the Red Banner of the RSFSR, somewhat cheaper).
