Yeah, they're all over eBay.

Thanks Eric. Are they listed on Ebay under Chinese medals?

Re: Fake Orders of the Red Banner

As luck would have it I couldn't find a single one this morning, although my search wasn't completly thorough.
Dunno what to tell ya; I've seen them often, they've always been refered to as "chinese copies" and I could swear I've seen them listed by actual Chinese dealers in the past but I have no actual proof that they are made there.
Maybe if Claret Baron sees this thread he'll chime in. I suspect he could clear this up.

Re: Fake Orders of the Red Banner

They were very common for a while from sellers on eBay with Chinese home addresses. Either buyers have become wiser (likely) or sellers realized that their "products" were such bad copies that no one wanted them.

I'm sure we'll see more of them again.

Re: Fake Orders of the Red Banner

They did many "styles" of the copper on a four sided red ribbon or sometimes just a pin on the back. I picked up (for less than metal value including delivery) two Belarussian SSR Red Banners Of Labour and a HSSR Red Banner along with a pile of Chinese item of which some may be real but I doubt it.

If I understand you correctly, you have some of these copper copies? Could you do us all a favor and post pictures of the BSSR and HSSR copies - or are those real and the "pile" consists of copper ones?

In either case, I would love to see the RBs.:)

Re: Fake Orders of the Red Banner

They are very CRUDE copies. I'll scan them in tomorrow and certainly won't be fooled... In fact you would have to be blind, numb and have no sense of taste to be fooled.
