Albanian Group

While there are some condition issues (these awards were certainly well worn) and there is no documentation (efforts are still underway to remedy this, but the family is reluctant to let them go as they still receive benefits), it isn't often you see an Albanian group.

Plus the ribbon bar.

The Soviet-made July 1945 variety (with Soviet-style screw-plate).

Made by Prawema. Note, please, the proper orientation of the badge. Most illustrations are incorrect (including Schena's).

The enamel has had a hard life, but still a nice single-class (1949-65) badge made by Mennica Państwowa.

Established 30 May 1953.

One of the things I find interesting and challenging about this group is how the ribbon bar calls into question the research we have in hand (Schena) on the order of wearing for these Albanian awards. It is always good to slap about "what we thought we knew"?

(Still working on the documents, even photocopies.)

I hope to have some new "chum" to throw into the tiny Albanian pond of interest "soon".
