Making your collection permanent

So there we were, in a japanese resturant in Little Rock, and someone makes the bold statement about collections: "You can't take it with you". Seeing a challenge, I decided to make them wrong. Now before some smart aleck (you know who you are) points out the the 1924 regulations said this was supposed to be 8cm above the elbow I have to note that my place of work has a "no exposed tat" rule for it's docs and sometimes I wear short sleeve scrubs and had to place it high enough on the shoulder so that there would not be a chance of a "peek a boo".

I'm not a "tat" man - but I like the concept. Did the rednecks (assumption) shut up after you showed them?

No hammer and sickle to offend those that think the US is still fighting the "soviet union". (A lot of those here in Texas) Easily recognizable to a soviet cloth collector but few others. I wouldn't wear a muscle shirt to the next gun show just in case.

True that. But like I said to devalcourt after the nkvd leather jacket kerfuffle, I have a sense of humor about my collections.

WOW. I was thinking of having a tattoo and was a bit unsure, but this has surprised me. Looks good!

Wel, YOU may have a sense of humor about such things, Jeff, but I think what we all want to know is:

What was the wife's reaction?

Or perhpaps SHE is going to get an armored branch tattoo ?

She loves me and says it's my skin. I did get pre-approval, though and she is NOT getting one of her own. My wife is special anyways. My manikin Yuri whose uniform I change every few weeks used to be in the foyer until my son complained it embarassed him so we moved into our bedroom. When the son moved out I put it back in the foyer but my wife said it looked out of place there and had me move it back into the bedroom.

I try not to leave her and yuri alone.
