My First Soviet Uniform of sorts

This was an ebay auction I won as I liked the patch and wanted a uniform to display with my patches. I figured this wasn't a bad one, and I have no major complaints about it. I paid $60 shipped for it...maybe this was high, but again, I'm new to this.

There is some writing on the left pocket flap. I doubt it's legible in the photo, but I'm going to try and carefully write it out to see if it is a name or something else.

The enamel on the VLKSM pin is chipped in the lower corner. The Guards Badge has a piece of plastic carefully fut out by the owner to support the badge on the uniform. The patches are both sewn and glued to the uniform. The "CA" silver metal insignia are also glued to the shoulder boards, also reinforced with plastic pieces which are removable.

Pastfinder,

I don't believe that such a way to set patches is done according to regulation. It has a dembel flavor to me.

Re: My First Soviet Uniform of sorts

this ain't regulations wise.

this is a classic variation on a dembel / demob uniform.

about the writhing in the pocket flab, i have seen it before that uniforms were named there.

the point of naming a uniform is pretty understandable, especially when there are no badges attached in the beginning of a soldiers career ,, there is not much els to see witch is yours.

i do like the uniform overall look, especially the patch.

I bought it because it's a dembel, and regulation-wise it is completely off, but at least it looks unique!

No no, price + shipping = $60. I'm in the U.S., and the uniform came from Lithuania. The packaging left something to be desired to say the least, but it did arrive after two weeks.

They literally rolled the whole uniform up, stuffed it into a plastic bag, wrapped it with thin brown paper, covered that in packing tape, and mailed it. Talk about quality packing, haha.

Re: My First Soviet Uniform of sorts

that seems to be the normal way people from the Warsaw pack (east block) ship their stuff.

my visor caps are shipped the same way if it comes from the east block.
and they are some times crushed terrible.

i hate it when it happens
