Lieutenant Kigen'ko, G. I. participant in the Patriotic War from the first days. In the staff of the 25th Rifle Corps, 228th Rifle Division and 65th Rifle Division, a quality junior and then middle commander, participant of numerous battles and scout operations, has made 16 trips to the enemy rear, twice getting out of enemy encirclement with fighters, returning with himself and 27 fighters from other units and destroying in melee combat up to 30 Hitlerites. In battle wounded.

As part of the 89th Separate Machinegun-Artillery Battalion 11th-12th April 1943 has made a personal scout of the enemy front area and cemetery of the village of Matveevo. On his produced data, addressed to the command, his subunits laid for a few nights in trenches in the enemy front area and cemetery and 22nd April 1943 entrenched in dominating positions in the direct vicinity of the enemy front area. As a result the company, followed its exclusive predecessors thanks to which the defence turned, acquiring dominant positions, providing a circular defence important to units in the region of 4th company.

For valuable initiative and personal boldness is worthy of the governmental award Medal "For Bravery".
