Re: Fake Orders of the Red Star

Hi! thanks for the input- i doubt it was re-enameled though, since it's been sitting in my Grandfather's foot locker since 1948...

Re: Fake Orders of the Red Star

Not necessarily, inasmuch as it was manufactured/minted in 1940.

Re: Fake Orders of the Red Star

I think it is most likely the lighting. If it has been re-enamelled it is an exceptionally good job - the edges are very crisp and not the usual wavering seen when redone.

Must be time to get it researched!

I am not exactly sure what you see or are trying to say, Marsino, but I agree, better pictures are needed to more accurately assess this order. . .

Re: Fake Orders of the Red Star

It is always better to post the very best photographs or pictures possible. No matter if the item's authenticity is under scrutiny or not. The most extravagant top end Order or most lowly mass produced item. Pictures can traverse all language barriers.

No-one ever asks for smaller or blurrier pictures.

Agreed, the results of the research should be interesting. I would really like to have this order in hand. . .

Wow i missed a lot of activity over the week-end!

It's difficult to take better photos, as i'm limited to my smartphone!
What's the best way to take a picture of it? Flash/no flash etc..
