Badge "10 Years Of The People's Commissariat Of Justice".

This is a 10-Year Jubilee badge of the Georgian Narkomat (i.e. People's Commissariat, but you already knew that) of Justice.

It is six pieces, plus the screwpost: shield, central star -- traditional Georgian star but the mountains in the center have been replaced with the H&S, star, wheat ear and grapes/grape leaves (grapes are an eternal Georgian symbol) -- and the sword in four parts, top and bottom are gold on top riveted to silver bases.

This is a very Georgian interpretation of the well-known sword-and-shield of state security. The sword is more of a Caucasus shaska and the shield is of a type that goes back more than 2,000 years into Georgian history.

I believe that this piece is uncatalogued and unknown in the west. If anyone has information to the contrary, or just more information about this badge or organization, I would be interested in learning more about it.
