Presented For Medal "For Bravery"
1. Year of birth. 1923
2. Nationality. Russian
3. From which time in Red Army. Since 23rd March 1942.
4. Party Membership. Non-Partisan
5. Participation in War /where, when/ South-Western Front from 18th May 1942.
6. Has been wounded and contused. Had one wound.
7. Has received awards (for which distinction) Not awarded
8. Which Regional Military Commissariat called. Sosnov Regional Military Commisariat, Gor'pov Oblast

Comrade Nikotin shows himself to be a clever, sharp, bold and brave scout. Always like a wind with the enemy. With enthusiasm and energy performs the new tasks assigned by the command. On night patrols in most cases is active in the captured group.
25-12-42 when scouting in a group of 9 persons captured as prisoner 36 Germans including 4 officers, Comrade Nikorin boldly threw himself at the enemy and as a result of his overall bold action all the enemy fighters and commanders were disarmed and taken prisoner.

It would seem that Nikotin was rather stealthy whilst operating inside the "kessel". This award was "lost" by 1947 but it has certainly been found now.

Re: For Bravery,0087122,Scout,367th Separate Moto-Rifle Scout Company,Stalingrad

The 276th Rifle Division became the 60th Guards Rifle Division on 3rd January 1943 after being awarded the Guards title for their heroic actions at Stalingrad.

During the period of 19th to 25th December 1942 the Division captured 827 Germans and also destroyed over 2000. The Germans in the citation seem to have had a lucky Christmas present in comparison.

The locations given would suggest that the Division were pushing down southward from the north.
