Stefan Cel Mare Police Academy Graduation Badge.

This came in the mail today. I have nothing to base its authenticity on other than the envelop was postmarked Moldova along with the customs stickers. It looks similar to the Soviet one in post #2 only with the current state emblem and colors (but not nearly the same quality). It is a 3-piece construction with more paint than enamel and the "rivet" is actually a point or bump that fits into a hole in the largest plate to align the two main pieces.

Obviously, I will be deferring to Desantnik on this one.

- The key was inside with the badge for weight I guess. But since I hadn't seen a key like this in over a decade, I had to put it in. I hope it wasn't to anything important.;)

The badge is definitely post '92 Moldovan and the shield device with crossed swords below the national eagle insignia infers law enforcement - either police or prosecutor's office. There are two police academies in Chisinau. I'll ask and look around.

I was told your badge is from the "Stefan cel Mare Police Academy." Stefan cel Mare, or Stefan the Great was a great Moldovan/Romanian ruler of the Middle Ages.
