Badge "Veteran Of The 29th Guards El'nja Rifle Division".

Hi guys,

It's the little things that matter sometimes... I finally had an unknown Vet badge in my collection identified on a Russian forum. This badge also happens to be on the cover of PJS's Veteran Znachki reference, and listed as unknown there.

Without further ado, the attached badge is...

29-я гвардейская Ельнинская (бывшая 32-я) стрелковая дивизия
29 Guards Yelnya (former 32nd) Rifle Division

The two ribbons on top are: Order of Red Banner, and Order of Suvorov II Class. (The green Suvorov Ribbon is missing the orange stripes and was a bit of a mystery)

The 32nd Rifle Division was formed in 1922 and received its Order of Red Banner distinction for fighting the "Japanese Imperialists" at Lake Hasan.
The badge itself is huge, with hot enamel, likely mint made.

George
