For what it's worth, I have a new Russian (post 1991) medal stamped "Mulyazh".

I´d also suggest to add a "Made in Italy"

I don't like a big writing and I fear that the customers don't appreciate it
I try to propose a solution with a modified picture (2 alternative solutions). I tried to write "copy" near the ring in circular manner (but may be difficult for the engraver) and to the bottom. The writing "Mulyazh" I think must be in Cyrillic translation that may be more difficult for the engraver. Someone can translate the writing? May be a Latin writing like "Copy" is better, because for the future one people may think that the cyrillic writing indicates a special production with a higher value |

Lampone,
Why not simply engrave the word "Copy" instead of the serial number. That way, no one could remove it and later engrave a fake serial number, then try and pass the order for what it is not. Marc |

Why not just create a "stamp" with your initials in a circle and put it somewhere on the back. Make it deep enough and in a specific location so that anyone could tell if it was buffed off.

Some considerable wisdom here. But why put a serial number on these unless there is an intent to defraud????

hello friends,
I apologize why in my preceeding post I forgot the image. Here is it. From the beginning, my target was a good quality medal, but a COPY and I've never tried to sell them as original. Hence, the serial number is to give the "look" of the original one that is appreciated as collector. For a collector it is a testimonial of a historical time. When I look the medal I can think to the time when the medal was awarded. The writing COPY in foreground disturb my mental reconstruction. So I think to put a new sign, but I think the serial number is "a must". |

Lampone,
I understand your point of view, but you are simply making things more "dangerous" for collectors by doing so. There will always be some "good soul" ready to somehow obliterate your word "copy", and then be left with a dangerously deceptive fake  Marc |
