Submarine Insignia of The DPRK.

Tang Si
I am interested to know if submariners or submarine commanders in North Korea wear an insignia to designate submarine service or qualification?
Thanks

Hello JS, and welcome

Here is a small article on the topic:

A militaria dealer recently reported a North Korean exchange student sold him 3 North Korean submarine pins which he sold rather quickly. They are described as 2" high, poorly made out of dark brass material, screw-backed with a raised sub design on it. On top in Korean is "Submarine Forces of the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea" Since there are no known insignia worn on their uniforms, these may be badges representing a submarine base or other honourary function.

Below is a drawing of the reported badge

Tang Si,
Thank you for responding. I have seen this on Submarine Insignias website and is why I was posing the question. I am a submarine insignia collector and to my knowledge none of the collectors I know have ever actually seen a badge or pin (only rumors). I was hoping you or anyone may have a photo of the actual insignia worn by NK submariners. Thanks again!

Although I only have one NK decoration and pleasantly wallow in my ignorance, for general guidance I would be extremely careful when putting down even a moderate sum for an insignia of any country or period that is poorly documented or unknown. Multiple fantasy pieces abound.
