Bulgarian Award Banners.

Here is a Bulgarian Award Banner made of cotton and measuring 120cm by 90cm (or 4 foot by 3 foot) without the tassels.
I purchased this for £12.50 ($25 at the time) in 2008 and it has been hanging on my wall here for a year or two now.

The banner reads;

"In Honour Of The XIII Congress Of The BCP - Thirteen Shock Weeks"
"Unit 42450 "Company (Battery) Champion""

This second banner is made from synthetic material and unlike the crudely hand painted previous banner this is embroidered. It measures 105cm X 82cm (3'6'' by 2'9'') This was also £12.50 and also now lives on my wall.

The front shows the city crest of Sofia and the reverse reads;

"Region CHAMPION in city shock labour day 13th April 1973"

After a little bit of research Unit 42450 was Pazardzhik Military Base under the control of the Ministry Of National Defence.
