Forum Membership "Happy Hour" 14th July 2013.
Since the forum was created some 11+ years ago membership has only been open to people with certain types of email addresses. This has restricted a vast number of people from joining due to having "free" email accounts.
This Sunday there will be the first forum "Happy Hour", where anyone can join with any email address. If members here have friends who have previously been excluded due to the restrictions send them an email because this Sunday they can get in! Membership means you can see all the brilliant illustrations to the posts here as well as being able to join in. The "Happy Hour" will be from 11am to 4pm EST. Which equates to 4pm to 9pm here in England or 5pm to 10pm if you are in France. Yes this is a bit late if you are an Aussie or Kiwi but it can be remedied next time. The "Happy Hour" may be extended beyond 4pm if it is necessary. All banned or "given up" users found creating new accounts will have the new account(s) removed. If anyone receives spam messages from any users at any time, report the messages.

What would the time equivalent be for South America?

Dependant on nation/state/province 11am-1pm to 4pm-6pm so everywhere in South America will be covered between 1pm and 4pm no matter where you are.

Will the existing members be allowed to switch their current email to normal ("free") one at that time?

Good question!
Existing members can have their email address changed at any time by sending a private message to Art with a request and the desired email address. I had mine changed to a "free" email account by Art many years ago after sending him a request so I could have better access to forum notifications.

Re: Forum Membership "Happy Hour" 14th July 2013.
Just remembered, July 14th is France´s national holiday.
My regards to all of our French members. Le jour de gloire est arrivé!
