Alright guys, before everyone tells me this is a fake, here are a few thoughts.
I bought it in Tashkent for 800 soums, less than a $
The reverse indicates a two piece construction.
maybe the enamel was chipped and a poor attempt by the wearer to repair it (definitely not by the seller as it would cost him more than a $)
Dated 1945. Gentlemen your thoughts......

I don't think it is Soviet. The uniform looks very odd. I'd say it is from one of the small pro-Soviet units of another East European country from the end of the war. The helmet looks like an Adrian so perhaps the very small Romanian unit set up by the RKKA??

The fact that this is pin-back and not screw back as most (?) older soviet badges makes a soviet ID less possible. But it could be soviet. Remeber the rule that there are no rules..

I'm also not sure that this is military at all. The man has a look that reminds me of soviet miner badges. Soldiers usually have weapons of some sort, rifle etc.. But I can't see what he is holding on to. Can you get a close up of the man? Perhaps that could get us closer to solving this badge ID.... or perhaps that's just wishfull thinking.
