Watch for "Cavaliers of All Three Classes of the Order of Glory"
I don't have it, but very interesting.
This watch was awarded by President of Russian Federation to a "Cavalier of All Three Classes of the Order of Glory". As you see it was awarded in dedication to 60th Anniversary of Victory in WW-2 Last edited by ericlida; 03-15-2010 at 11:23 PM. |

Re: Watch for "Cavaliers of All Three Classes of the Order of Glory"
Strange, I would have thought the makers would have used a OG on the reverse instead of the Victory, since it's for OG cavaliers...
It's a good-looking watch that appears to be geared toward naval awardees (anchor on the second hand and the chain around the face). I can't make out the manufacturer from the pictures. Any idea? Also, I came to this thread thinking the title was an instruction - as in "watch out for ...":D Phillip

Very very nice! I'd wear one of those all day long. :)
I wonder if the anchor is some sort of logo for the watch manufacturer? My Invicta has the same sort of set-up.

It's at the other end of the skinny hand that points to the seconds (straight up in this image). Look just below dead center of the watch face.

Re: Watch for "Cavaliers of All Three Classes of the Order of Glory"
I think perhaps as some sort of counterbalance or weight to the long other part of the hand? Or maybe just as a decoration.

But, "North", "South", "East" and "West", in Cryllic don't match (Север, Юг, Восток, Запад(?)). However, in German they do: Nord, Sud, Ost und West. Was is los? :)

Re: Watch for "Cavaliers of All Three Classes of the Order of Glory"
So why would a Russian watch have German language indicators on it?
