I love that order too, it´s very nice :)
I´ve only seen soviet produced versions of these. How much are korean made ones going for? Well, I have answered myself the upper question. I got this at an auction and arrived last week. :) Wasn´t cheap, but not expensive either... It´s a later version, but still the enamel quality is much higher than common awards. I had to clean this one (rinsing it with some vinegar and gently brushing it to avoid losing the patina), so the center detail -nevertheless rather poor- could be seen. The banner inscription reads: "Jo-guk-eul Ui-ha-yeo" (For the motherland). Note the weapon the soldier behind the leading officer is an AK rifle. Can´t tell which one is shown on the soviet version.

Re: want have 10 Orders of Freedom and Independence, 2nd cl
The DPRK items can be VERY nice and I've been piling them up recently. The screwbacks are fabulous! Attached is a picture of half of my DPRK Order collection and just a handful of my DPRK medals. In total I have 286 Orders, 266 Medals and 35 Badges. Only 21 of the Orders are screwbacks though.

Re: want have 10 Orders of Freedom and Independence, 2nd cl
Thank you. When I have the whole collection framed I'll take some high quality photos. I've spent about $7000 over the last two months on DPRK items so I'll be a bit short for a time. I also have 26 documents but they aren't the easiest items to come across. There are so many variations you just can't get bored... but you need some serious cash and contacts to find them.

A very good start on a breeding population. Let us know when they have kittens.

Re: Order of Freedom and Independence, 2nd cl,
Here's my Type 3 Freedom And Independence Order 2nd Class (자유독립훈장 제2급). For The Fatherland (조국을위하여) on the banner pretty much recreates that well know roar of "За Родина!". The Soviet influence on this design is quite obvious.

Re: Order Of Freedom And Independence 2nd Class.
This Type 3 looks to be made from the same dies as the last but it has a satin finish. Maybe most noticeable around the tank's tracks.
A variation in alloy?
