Russian Federation Uniforms

In today's online Pravda (1-29-08) there is a six photo mini-story concerning a proposed new line of Russian uniforms. In looking at these photos, it appears the plan is to drift from the drab green the army is currently wearing and return to an updated Soviet style uniform. Granted, six photos is pretty short, but it bears a look.

Now that's taking one step forward with one foot, and taking two steps back with the other.

Not too crazy with what the designer came up with, but undoubtedly there will be refinements for regular servicemember's wear, as opposed to slim models. Have to take into account all shapes and sizes :)

Not sure if anybody has posted this yet, but I have not yet seen these in great detail until now. :)

I really like the old fashioned uniform, it looks distinguished! And I believe it was worn during this past years victory parade!

We even see the designer next to the prime minister discussing the new uniforms.

But... Wasn't this project haltedd already due to lack of funds? I think it has been discussed here before. Most of the uniforms look great though :)

That's what I heard!
But after seeing many of these new uniforms in the parade, and many others I have not seen before, maybe it went along as planned?

Two comments.

1. The air force pilot uniforms look very "classic" american. The second picture reminds me of those B-17 pilots I used to see in documentaries.

2. The first female models are quite hot. :D
