Hi Folks
I found these today; they must be some sort of commemoration badge. Interestingly all the badges have their "birth" years on them correctly apart from the Lenin. First time I have seen them, it would be nice to find the rest to make a complete group. Just cheap colourful pleasing badges of no real significance I’m sure, but I like em. I read VLKCM on the badges...I don't really know this institution's history, but are they not the date of attribution? (red banner is of 1922 and here it's 1928. Idem for Lenin, given in 1945?)
just my opinion, sebastien PS: keep them well! little badges seem cheap but in France we dont' see them yet! they became rare! and diplomas even more! thses stuff are gaining real value.

Those are commemorative badges of the Komsomol, and the year on each badge is the year the specific order was awarded to the Komsomol.
What you are missing to make complete group: Order of Lenin with the year 1948 and 1956. See also:http://soviet-awards.addr.com/forum/...=&threadid=872 Tal charlet You are wrong in the year the order of the Red Banner was awarded to the komsomol - it WAS 1928.

Cheers
Thanks Tal.
These badges are obviously meant to be worn. If so, were why they awarded. Or where they distributed on an ad hoc basis? Thanks again regards chris |
