Hi

Who can show us a real medal? How many were issued? Is it made of gold or just gold plated? Does anyone have the document for the medal?

It seems that very little is know about all these 'interesting' titles.

I would not be so sure about the statement that the medal was sold.

The dealer who had it listed takes good amount of item on consignment, normally for 6 months. You saw the medal listed in Dec 2004, it's been 8 months - it's highly possible there was no interest in this medal and it went back to th owner.

Keep in mind that very few collectors have interest in these Distinguished medals, the market is small and with the prices the dealer's listing them - there could simply be no interest.

Same goes with other items/groups listed on dealers sites in the past: just because it's on the site anymere - doesn't mean it was sold!

For the first time that I see it for sale (only....$670.00...)

According to the seller, those badges were awarded only in the 1981-1991 period. It is interesting to know how many were given, and to see the document.

This medal was recently sold. It is the only one I saw for sale since 2000.
