OTK Markings
Hello,
Can anyone tell me what the the OTK mark means? Is this a Military aceptance mark? Is the number that is under the OTK an inspector number or a date? Thanks, Erich |

Erich,
I believe that it is a sort of "Narkomat/ "Ministry Of" quality control mark that applies to more than just military related items... If your question pertains to a weapons related topic, some of the firearms related groups could possibly be more informative than I.

OTK is a quality check marking. From what I remembet, the number is controler's ID number.
If an item has also GOST number (state standard), it can give some info on manufacture date - GOSTs for certain items changed from time to time, and the last two digits indicate GOST's introduction date, so eg. if on boots there's a number ending with 78, it was most likely manufactured between 1978 and 1991, when new GOST for boots was given. |
