Excellence in the Airborne Badge
Gentlemen,
What do you think about it? It's very nicely coined, screwback, no marks. Alexei |

Shawn,
Could be, I just don't know. I guess this one goes into my mistery box. Alexei |

Special Airborne Unit
This one looks a little similar and I think is for a special para unit.

In Goodman's book "Lenin's legacy", the 1st one is presented as the "Excellence in the Airborne Troops (for enlisted men) Proficiency Badge, 1970s-1980s".
In the same source, the second badge appears to be a "Commemorative pin for the Airborne Troops USSR, 1980s". It is part of a set of 5. But, in the book, it is shown without suspension, and no hole at the top. Ch. |

Mine is a different badge, very similar however. Could be a variation. Chris |

Guys,
These are just commemorative pins. I believe that unlike the regular pinbacks, that were made for collectors, suspended ones were official issues, because they have no price on the back. Alexei |
