Fake CheKa/NKVD/KGB Documents

These are usually sold as exact copies of the original. Just thought, I'd point out that they look nothing like originals

Hi

Currently on ebay.
Note the stamp, and the "xerox-look" of the document itself. However, the cover looks very nice. Comments?

example 1:

example b. Note tha SAME hand write, ink and stamps in the 2 documents - the first from 1965 and the second from 1977 (or perhaps from the late 1990's ??)

BTW, the document should be placed also in the disinformation thread - read the description:

"This is a very rare example of the Russian NKGB USSR (KGB) ID. This KGB ID was issued 01/15/1977"

And WE know that this is a document for a KGB anniversary badge, not a KGB ID.

Tal

Tal,

Both are fakes. I think they are made in Moscow. Dealer's price is about $10 if sold as fake and up to $50 when sold as genuine.

Tal,

I believe the second one (the NKVD Gramota) is a fake. On those fake Gramotas for the Honored Employe they usually leave the space for the badge number blanc, so that it can be entered if sold together with a badge. Besides on this one they didn't get the Beria signature stamp quite right.

I would love to see the other two in person. the only thing that I can say is that the numbers on both booklets appear to have been stamped with the same worn stamp and in the same ink.

Dear Tal

As usual you always have something interesting. Sorry to trouble you but can you translate the awardees of the above items. (I don't read Russian. )

I ask this becuase it may be possible that someone out there has awards to these guys. You may think I am crazy but just today I reunited a medal group that I bought part of 4 years ago. Strange but true.

Kind regards

Munroe

Gentlemen,

Here's another bunch of fake NKVD-KGB documents.

According to this it was given for long service. LOL! Notice that there is no serial number of the badge in the document. It was left blanc in case someone had a badge to sell together with the document.
