Re: Fake Medals "For Bravery"
Hello guys,
a few weeks ago I bought a heavily worn, custom made order-/ medal bar containing two bravery medals (see images). I now researched the order of glory 3rd class and received the award card. I was very surprised: even, if all parts of the suspension have the same traces of wear and the fixing of the two bravery medals was made by using the same (now heavily rusted) steel wire, without any "fresh" scratches, etc. one of the bravery medals does not belong to the recipient!? Is it possible that there was a false entry made in the awards card in the archive??? Thank you very much! |

I think a "quick fix" here would be to research one of the Medals - paperwork isn't always perfect though as there are administrative errors.
Also posting the research for the OG3 in full (in the correct section) would certainly let others here assist you in researching the set "as is".

Re: Fake Medals "For Bravery"
I doubt its any kind of administration error but to make sure, you could order the Record Card for the Bravery Medal that doesnt appear on the other record card you already obtained..
This will probably come back as being awarded to someone else but thats the only way you'll ever 100% know. |

Re: Fake Medals "For Bravery"
Hello guys,
thank you so far. I will research the bravery medal on the suspension, which does not appear on the award card as soon as possible... btw.: the suspension was made from tin of an old vegetable can sent by the US government to assist the USSR during the war against the Germans - you still can see the official stamps :D With kind regards!!! e.g.: a friend of mine once bought a group, for which two different award cards existed in the archive... they fit together to all pieces the group came with - also strange... Re: Fake Medals "For Bravery"
Using the name/unit on the record cards/citations it should be possible to research this wartime award for free.
