I. Brief description of personal feat or merits

Comrade Ivanov has served in the front-line forces since November 15, 1941. During that period the prospective awardee has shown himself as a steadfast, enterprising and brave commander, competent in his job and capable of organizing it in a combat situation.

Before March 31, 1942, the prospective awardee worked as Assistant Chief of the 4th Staff Department ? 239th rifle division - disregarding all hardships, the prospective awardee spent much time in the units, especially when the division units were in combat against the enemy, Comrade Ivanov rendered practical assistance in arranging the best personnel registration, as well as timely paperwork of the personnel losses. The prospective awardee succeeded in proper and timely commanding office appointments. Since March 31, 1942, Comrade Ivanov has worked as Head of the 4th Department of Staff of the 239th division. The prospective awardee skillfully directs the department personnel at executing orders of the higher staffs.

Comrade Ivanov pays much attention to proper and timely provision of the division units with personnel, especially when the division is executing a battle order.

Since May 5, 1942 till May 20, 1942, during the withdrawal of the division from the front to the reserve, Comrade Ivanov excellently managed the registration of the incoming reinforcements -
seven thousands of privates and junior commanding personnel, as well as medium level ? arms and horses.

The prospective awardee promptly and efficiently distributes incoming reinforcements among the division units, thus enabling the division units to perform the task of defeating the Fascists.

CONCLUSION: For skillful management under speciality, initiative, perseverance, Comrade Ivanov deserves the government award, the medal For Military Merits.
