"First: Alex doesn’t deserve ANY KIND of audition and don’t need to give ANY explanations on this matter!
Second: First time, in August last year, I had this qroup in my possession for couple month and then, trade it with local Chicagoland dealer. Then, in one of the militaria shows,in February-March, I bought this group back with long service medals and Order of Red Star added . Seller, dealer from Minnesota ( I even have his card somewhere ) requested additional research and receive more copies of documents and Order of Red Star. I added couple medals and badges to this group, but I don’t see anything wrong with THAT!" Thank you Mark. I'm not an expert on Soviet awards and the researching process so, upon reading again, please help me understand: - you purchased the group from Dave (at that point: 1 order+research) - you sold it - the buyer (or a subsequent buyer) had research done and this delivered: - "more copies of documents" - what are the other documents? all I've seen in addition to what Dave had is the xerox of order book - long service medals - and a red star belonging to this group (he must have been very lucky, presumably doing research in itself doesn't turn up a new award so by 1 in a million chance he happened to have this red star) - then you purchased it back, added some medals / badges which didn't belong to this group - and subsequently resold it to Alex who subsequently resold it without the medals / badges Just trying to understand as this will help me in the future when handling groups. |

To all those baying for blood and a banning , I have been ripped off by a member on this forum , yet he is still here. Are we going to have some sort of uniform policy on dishonesty here ? Or are we going to base it on the amount of publicity generated in each case ? |

You may have been ripped off by a member, but if you don't come forward about it, how are we supposed to know? Put your case forward, if that person IS dishonest, then we all need to know about it; however, the other party is also entitled to explain his end of the matter. Marc |

I was in fact referred to this site by a collector who tipped me off that this person had sold me ( and others ) fake medals on Ebay. He recommended this site as a safe place and recommended 2 honest dealers to me , Alexei and Ron from Red Medals. I hounded this dishonest bastard via email which he never replied to and I watched him change his Ebay username 3 times to avoid me. This was 2 years ago. I had my money returned after threatening to take PayPal Australia to court. The sum of money wasnt a lot but to me the principle is more the point than the money. I have seen him sell 3-4 times here in the last few months , whether they are genuine or not I do not know. I have alerted MANY members here via PM to avoid him , as if I post anything publically about him my posts get removed. This person is still a member here. Quote:
I agree totally and Alex has certainly jumped up the list in regards to who I would deal with. PS , what amount of money do we have to offer you to become a dealer again ? :) Last edited by CtahhR; 06-28-2012 at 02:19 PM. |

First of all, whatever this guy did was done outside this forum and did not involve any business conducted here. This problem that you had with him from what I understand happened before either of you were members here. So, do not insinuate that the integrity of the business ethics here "swings in the breeze". I find that insulting. If you had a problem with this guy, OUTSIDE this forum, then you handle it your own way. This person has conducted himself perfectly here and I'm not going to be witchfinder general for past grievances.
Second, I'm not going to conduct background checks for everyone that sells here. If you guys have a problem with a seller on this forum due to a business transaction conducted on this forum then discuss it. If the person is honest and wishes to remain reputable as a dealer of extremely valuable awards, he will make it right. If he doesn't, he is not welcome here. Quote:

He has sold several items here recently , whether they are genuine or not I dont know. Maybe I did a few members a favor by sending them a PM and recommending that they dont do business with him. Of course I cant PM everyone on the site , so someone always ends up buying his items. I just sincerely hope that they have been genuine and not fakes like I received. Quote:
Whether you find that insulting or not is entirely your perogative , I am simply stating the facts. Quote:

IMHO, seems that Mark is the one that needs to refund Alex S. after Alex refunds Bob. Then it would be up to Mark to find that business card he says he has and get his money back from the guy in Minnisota.
Mark, nothing said "WAIT A MINUTE" before you bought the thing from the guy in Minnisota? No red flags went up? Alex, same quesiton to you about red flags. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary? Gee, this whole thread make me long for the "Tall tale" competition held in Jonesborough, TN each year. This one could be a winner!
