Here are two extremely rare badges from OMSBON, the Independent Motorized Rifle Special Operations (or Purpose) Brigade. They were stood up to defend Moscow, or remain as a sabotage force in the event of the German capture.
After Moscow was safe the unit was employed in partisan warfare in the occupied territories and into eastern Europe. |
