Short description of personal combat feat or accomplishment

In fighting during the forced Dnepr river crossing and subsequent offensive operations 21st through 27th February, his platoon delivered accurate and timely fire on enemy firing positions and personnel. In this fighting, two heavy machineguns and a three-embrasure bunker in which were two machineguns and crew were destroyed, as many as 40 soldiers and officers were killed, thus enabling the successful advance of our infantry.

During our infantry’s capture of the first enemy trenchline, he and his platoon were the first to force the Dnepr crossing, established fighting order on the far shore, and continued to fire upon the enemy.

Upon completing a march they were subjected to enemy aviation bombing. He quickly and capably extricated his artillery unit from enemy bombing without losses, quickly leading them to their firing position.
