Ribbon Bar on M1954 Colonel General's Parade Tunic?

Dear fellow collectors:

I stumbled in Moscow over a M1954 Colonel General's Parade Tunic (Staff Corps with violet piping). The only thing that is unusual is the ribbon bar that in my opinion does not belong on a parade tunic. However, the ribbon bar seems to be relatively old. Any ideas?
Thanks so much!

Best

Dirk

Welcome to the forum!
In my opinion the ribbon bar doe not belong here - it is hard to say, since te uniform is "deflated", but it seems to be in wrong position.
Also it reminds me of the ribbon bars I have been offered from Ukraine few times in the past - with the information that they are not original, but made of original ribbons. They all were impressively large and all included some foreign ribbons that were usually mixed with soviet ones. Normaly the foreign ribbons would be worn below Soviet ribbons, in separate rows (e.g. there would be 4 rows of soviet ribbons, 4 ribons each and one row of soviet ribbons with just 3 init and next row may contain 3 foregn ribbons), although there were some exceptions.
A nice uniform,btw.

I like the uniform and would love to own (another one) like this myself. As for the ribbon bar, I would like to see how it is attached, what thread etc. While I tend to think the bar is good (interesting that the 20 years of service ribbon is at the end after some foreign awards) but it is indeed attached with a heavy list. How does the set look when worn? I would not refuse this set :)

I still think it may by from the same series as the one shown below (don't have a better picture) - it's in my friend's collection and is a fake (from original ribbons), as it was sold to him as a fake, togeather with other similar ones.

Could be... it would need better photos and even better, to see it IRL, to find out for sure. As we know, there are lots of huge ribbon bars available on eBay on daily basis, made from split gas tube. Looks impressive but are totally bogus. These look like a better manufacture though.
