So Jeffrey, if I understand you correctly, this visor could have been part of a uniform worn in '45 by a senior officer?

Didn't mean that. I wrote "general officer cap" in the meaning "for all the officers". Sorry for that ambiguation.

You may try to read what's on the back. Or, if they are attached with a wire, not sewn, they can be easily removed without any damege. Just look under the sweatband.
The button is brass - it would indicate that the cap rather isn't newer than early 60's.
