Strange Uniform

I just acquired a period photo of a Soviet officer wearing what is, to me at least, an odd uniform. My scanner isn't working so I'll have to try to take a digital picture of the photograph to post it. But I thought that I would describe it to see if it makes sense to one of you guys.

The officer wears an open collar double breasted jacket that looks like a Zhukov style dress uniform. It has collar tabs, but what struck me as odd was that it also has the decorative "spools" on the cuffs, as worn on the closed collar parade uniforms.

Anyone recognize such a thing?

It sounds like a M49 tank or airforce parade uniform.

Agree with Lapa. Does it have a t-34 or propellors on the collar tabs?

They appear to be propellers.
On the tunic are worn Orders of the Patriotic War and the Red Star, as well as a Guards Badge.

And c'mon. guys, did I not say in my first post that I would have to photograph the picture because my scanner was not working? :dissapoint

After 10 years on various forums and 40 years in the collecting field, I recognize the value of photographs. Heck, that's why I acquired the photograph that is the subject of this post; because photographs ARE worth a thousand words, especially when (as they often do) they show something being done about which a large number of collectors would say "They never did that!".
