During his eight months of service as chief of ordnance supply, the ordnance supplies were delivered without interruptions and the Division’s units were provided with weaponry and ammunition. During the attempts in the Lebedin-Shpola area to ward off a large formation of enemy tanks and infantry, which were seeking to link up with the encircled Korsun-Shevchenkovo pocket, the Division, faced with the most difficult period of the winter and spring mud season, found itself in an exceptionally difficult situation when it came to supplying the troops with weaponry and ammunition. Thanks to his resourcefulness, audacity, great personal qualities, and organizational skills, however, he managed to arrange for the ammunition to be transported via pack animals and via motor and animal-drawn transport straight to the firing positions in the shortest possible time, thus ensuring the successful outcome of battle. Without regard for artillery fire or aerial bombardment, comrade Morozov repeatedly personally brought shells to the firing positions. During the period of combat operations, he set up a periodic collection of spent shell casings within the regiments, and pursuant to a Decision from the Defense Council the Division received a 92,000-ruble financial reward. During the seven months the Division fought in combat, with materiel being taken out of action, comrade Morozov arranged repairs on site and in workshops. The materiel and weaponry were returned straight to the firing positions in the shortest possible time. For the exemplary execution of his assignments in the struggle with the German invaders he deserves to be awarded the Order of the Patriotic War, 1st Class.
