Short description of personal combat feat or accomplishment

Comrade S.P. Merabashvili was an active participant of the Patriotic War in the 88 Rifle Regiment from July 1941 through 15.12.42 on the Northern Caucasus Front as a private. Near Svone(?) while assigned as a mortarman in the end of 1942, the platoon in which he was assigned captured 20 German soldiers. Comrade Merabashvili participated in three attacks. He was seriously wounded in the last one, resulting in the amputation of his right leg.

At present Comrade S.P. Merabashvili is a Patriotic War Veteran I Class and pensioner.

While working on the labor front in the “Rustaveli” Collective Farm as a collective farmer he was active in the local Party organizations, receiving positive evaluations.

The above was compiled from the awardee’s oral report. He has a memorandum concerning his wounded issued by Evacuation Hospital #4640.
