Re: Number on jubilee OPW1
I think I would agree with Mark. I base this upon looking at how the engraver has started each number at the bottom and then formed the numeral from that starting point.
Cheers, Ade.

Re: Price question

Astonishing that I bought mine a year and a half ago for $500 (and that at about half price because the serial number had been messed with). It just boggles my mind that this particular item's worth has increased, at the least four-fold (and at the most eight times) in only 18 months. Something I bought, for basically a weeks pay, could now cover my mortgage for half a year or more. Every bit of business sense I have says "sell sell sell!" and yet I still get a great deal of pleasure looking at "my Nevsky" on the display on my wall....

S/N question OPW
Hi,
I have a question, highest number for a star back is around 400,000 and my is 802.032. I see noting wrong with the number, or I am blind ? Now the question. How would you explain this difference? |

Re: S/N question OPW
Marc,
That is the normal shape for this serial number range. Here is 803121. Marc |

Re: S/N question OPW
The difference IMO is only naming: the "concave ring" example on the site shows a bit of a star outline, at least the top part of a star.
Your example looks like a T2.7.4, both the number and mint mark. Just as it should for the number range as Marc points out. From the pictures of all the starback variations the difference between starback and concave reverse is often almost subjective. Some very faint stars in the examples (T2.6.4 & 2.8.3 for example) that to me look like "concave ring" type, while the T2.7.4 concave ring show what looks like a star.
