so then, could we say lapel brass leaves were manufactured according to the lapel´s cut? Could have happened, but I think that would be rather difficult to do. insignia weren´t supposed to be manufactured customly in a general basis, were they?
I really think it has to do with the manufacture year. We may both be right or wrong :p

Insignia can vary simply by who made it, where, and when.
